Secular Easter

easter-bunny-origins-1581358909For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

In the office lobby where I work, stands a tree. During December and January it was your typical Christmas tree, decorated with lights, ornaments, and tinsel, but it didn’t go into storage after January, oh no, it transformed. In February, the ornaments were replaced with hearts, red and green by white and pink, metamorphosing into a Valentine’s tree. In March, it became a St. Patrick’s tree, with gold coins and shamrocks. And in April, it has become an Easter tree, with eggs and bunnies–not a cross to be seen. Continue reading
