Your Life as a Movie Trailer

In the last couple of months, Youtube has been bombarded with buzzing movie trailers: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five ArmiesThe Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jurassic WorldTerminator: Genisys, and several others. A minute–to–two and a half minute collages of emotion stirring, adrenaline rushing, and action-packed clips, showing the best of the movies to get you hyped up to go see them. Helping you to determine if these are movies that you want to see, or films not even worth your time.

What would your life look like, if it was put into a movie trailer?

Would it be that movie that everyone is talking about, that they can’t wait to see! and buy tickets for it as soon as they’re available–or–is it a trailer that people yawn at and wish that it would hurry up and end so that they can get to the movie.

Who determines what kind of trailer your life will be?

You decide what kind of life you want. You decide if you want to stick to your same routines everyday or mix it up. You decide if you should play it safe or take a risk. You decide if you want to spend the effort to achieve something great or to be slothful and let life drag you along. You decide what kind of movie trailer that you want to be.

So, are you pleased with this imaginary outcome? Or is it time for more risk and less comfort? And yes, more risk means more opportunities to fail, but it also means more opportunities to achieve something greater.

Is your life epic enough for a movie trailer? It could be. Live your life in such a way–make it that number-one blockbuster that everyone is buying tickets for to go see next summer!–forge your life, into the movie trailer that you would want to see.
