This, is a very well done satire of our society. For centuries, satires have been written and performed with the intention of poking fun at society, but not with the soul intent in making people laugh, but to change it. This Youtube clip paints a picture of us–is this how we want to be remembered? A people who became more reliant on technology than our own two feet? Who became oblivious to other aspects of life as we became so wrapped up in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat? Who became disconnected from each other, and could only talk through a screen?
Technology is great, I mean I enjoy watching Netflix on my TV, or blogging from my laptop . . . technology has it’s uses, but it shouldn’t become what defines us, an idol. Everything in moderation. Even water can become a poison if too much is drunk.
What do you think? Do you want the grand or great grandchildren of tomorrow to look back on us and think that we were a pitiful generation who could no nothing without tech? all wrapped up in our own little worlds, and forgot how to jog, chairs our permanent lodgings? Or, do you want to be remembered as a selfless generation who were active in shaping and forming the world in which has become the future?
